What is Eyelid Aesthetics (Blepharoplasty)?
Blepharoplasty is the general name of the aesthetic corrections we make on
the eyelid. Eyelid aesthetics is one of the most common areas of oculoplastic
surgery.
In what cases is Blepharoplasty performed?
Excess skin on the upper eyelid, weakness in the muscle and connective tissue
under the skin, forward herniation or collapse of the fatty tissue, sagging of
the lacrimal gland; Sagging due to loosening of the lower eyelid, fat bags,
excess skin, collapse areas between the lid and cheek, and weaknesses in the
ligaments of the lower eyelid can be eliminated by blepharoplasty surgeries.
The important thing here is to determine which of the above-mentioned
procedures will be required through a detailed examination and to meticulously
plan the surgery that is suitable for the patient.
How is eyelid aesthetics (Blepharoplasty) performed?
There are many techniques available in eyelid aesthetic surgeries. First of
all, the patient’s eye and oculoplastic examinations must be performed in
detail and the patient’s eye and eyelid functions must be evaluated. An
experienced surgeon is well versed in many different techniques, and will be
able to determine and apply the most appropriate technique for his patient as
a result of the examination.
